April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her journey in music in the 7th grade when she took piano and guitar classes. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single called Different. When she was 14 April was a big devotee of her day writing and practicing songs. After a while, she began traveling with her father and write either in NY or LA. April also included additional topics in her track, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with things like peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal ideas. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger who has a growing fan base. As a woman born with no left hand, Lockhart is a major part of herself. It's however not her entire story. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not conceal her handicap, but it doesn't just focus on her disability. What is the message? We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability will define my character. I don't intend to influence disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." It doesn't impact my day-to-day living. I do the things I normally would and I've adapted to my disability. However, I also consider that it is a crucial part of myself. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. She admits that she has had periods where she felt uncomfortable in wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social platforms. The self-love she talks about is a process. I'm not sure when you'll reach the final stage. It's true for all regardless of their levels of anxiety. It's important to be surrounded by people who can really understand your.
