Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents encouraged her parents, dentist and teacher and both of them were teachers. They encouraged her to follow her love of acting. This was in contrast her earlier ambition to become a primateologist because she loved monkeys. Her rise to fame as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by her early successes. After her graduation in 1998, she took part in the French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning the journey to become an actor. Though she was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and went to church as a child, Tautou is now averse to this upbringing, stating she's not Catholic. Along with her acting career, she pursued a modeling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work during the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. In her photographs, she is mainly focused on celebrities and the spotlight. Cameras are focused at journalists, who sat and watched her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou's first big role, as Amelie Poulain's leading actor in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, brought the actress international fame. Amelie received international acclai the box office and was recognized at award galas across the world. It is currently the highest-grossing French film of the French language in the US. In the years following this film, Tautou appeared in a variety of films, ranging from British dramas to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
